THE WEDDING EDIT

Zalando | Art & Film Direction

Shot over five days in Barcelona, The Occasion Edit brings four distinct weddings to life - each with its own mood and aesthetic, yet united by a shared celebration of modern love. Spanning bridal fashion, occasion wear, accessories, and beauty, the project moves beyond traditional wedding imagery, capturing intimacy and individuality through diverse casting and candid, snapshot-style storytelling.

In close collaboration with Art Director Julia Kaskin, who led the fashion direction, I shaped the beauty concept and directed video across all wedding worlds, coordinating still and motion across multiple locations within a large-scale, multi-set production.

Wedding I - Femke & Edson

For the Classic chapter, we cast Dutch model Femke Lakenman and her partner Edson Ramos, drawn to their effortless elegance and natural chemistry.

Set across Barcelona - from a sunlit penthouse overlooking the city to a cinematic harbour departure by boat, the story embraced timeless romance with contemporary ease.

Beauty remained understated and polished: luminous skin, a precise red lip, softly styled hair.
A refined, aspirational take on classic wedding dressing, timeless, confident, quietly powerful.

Wedding II - Victoria & Yung

For the Boho Chic chapter, we collaborated with real couple Victoria and Run, embracing their natural chemistry and relaxed energy. Set on a sunlit beach just outside Barcelona, the story unfolded through soft ruffles, fluid silhouettes, and pastel tones moving effortlessly in the sea breeze.

Inspired by a subtle mermaid undertone, the beauty direction became a key storytelling layer. Hair was enhanced rather than transformed, celebrating natural texture, finished with delicate baby braids and tiny seashell accents. Makeup stayed fresh and luminous, and nails were kept minimal with soft pearl-drop details that caught the ocean light. Every element felt organic, tactile, and quietly connected to the setting.

As the assortment included kidswear, we worked with real families rather than traditional models, allowing the narrative to unfold with spontaneity and emotional authenticity. The result is a light-filled, modern bohemian wedding - joyful, intimate, and rooted in real connection.

Wedding III - Paola & Elmar

For Paola & Elmar, the casting followed the energy of the assortment — bold, colourful, and trend-driven. Their presence felt sharp and contemporary, perfectly aligned with modern, tight silhouettes and statement styling with a youthful edge.

Beauty mirrored that direction: daring haircuts, clean finishes, and confident details that enhanced individuality rather than softening it. The mood was expressive and dynamic, capturing celebration with attitude and edge.

This chapter was later featured in the print edition of Vogue Germany, highlighting its strong editorial character within the campaign.

Wedding IV - Marilú & Yanik

For this chapter, we cast burlesque performer Marilú Cardin and artist Yanik Blazer, a couple whose bold, magnetic personalities brought the assortment to life.

Set in an American-style diner just outside Barcelona, the story embraced a vibrant, retro atmosphere infused with playful excess. A photo booth, a white cherry-topped cake, red jelly details, and eclectic props set the tone for a celebration that felt spontaneous and slightly rebellious.

Beauty leaned into the mood: pastel-sprayed hair, statement makeup, and expressive styling that amplified individuality and nostalgic charm. The result is a high-energy, retro-inspired wedding story - unapologetic, fun, and full of character.

And they all lived stylishly ever after.
